About us
A History of Excellence

Superior Galleries has been providing superior value in rare coins since 1930... Guaranteed. We combine a unique blend of industry expertise and financial strength in support of our complete range of services. From consultation to acquisition to liquidation, Superior has a proven track record for realizing maximum value for its clients.

Superior Stamp & Coin was founded by Isadore Goldberg in 1930. Mr. Goldberg laid the foundation for what would become one of the premier companies in the field of numismatic rarities. In 2001, Superior was acquired by Silvano DiGenova, who became CEO of Superior, a position he holds to this day. Mr. DiGenova has been trading in coins as a dealer since his youth. A self-made millionaire in rare coins by the age of 21, Mr. DiGenova has an exceptional track record within the numismatic industry. He enjoys a well-earned reputation for creating value for his clients and is a recognized leader in the industry, having been instrumental in the creation of the Professional Coin Grading Service, the organization that first established the industry standards for coin grading. Silvano DiGenova is considered one of an elite few numismatist functioning at his level.

Mr. DiGenova has assembled a team with more than 300 combined years of experience in numismatics. They have literally traded billions of dollars in numismatic rarities. At Superior Galleries, rare coins are the only form of collectible sold. Extensive industry experience combined with a complete focus on the rare coin market allows us to provide the highest level of service to our customers.

Superior is a publicly traded company, one of only two in the rare coin marketplace. Superior's status as a public company requires that our financial statements and other disclosures be held to a much higher standard of accountability. At Superior, we maintain the highest standards in financial transparency and integrity to meet the expectations of our clients, shareholders, and community.
