| About us | KINGS INTERNATIONAL was established in 1977 in the leather town of Kanpur in India primarily to manufacture and export leather equestrian goods, dog collars and leashes. In 1997, in order to gain better control over the quality and supply of the raw hides, a tannery was commissioned. The modern, in-house tannery has an installed capacity of processing 200 hides per day, using cleaner technology and state-of-the-art machines with the help of qualified and experienced technicians and professionals. The company is making chrome-free, vegetable tanned leather using high grade Indian Buffalo hides and prime European bovine hides to produce the economical and superior quality leather for our own use. All kinds of leathers being produced are free from PCP, Azo dyes, Benzadine, etc, prohibited by most of the developed countries. The mechanized and purpose-built leather stitching facility has all the latest strap processing machines, tools and dies to service the export orders more consistently and speedily using the traditional and modern technologies with the help of capable and experienced craftsmen, giving the company technological edge over the conventional competitors. The infrastructural facilities thus created has enabled the company to diversify in to casual and fashion leather belts for both men and ladies. The working environment in both the tannery and factory is quite healthy, safe and eco-friendly using all the safety equipments and the protective gadgets thereby, complying to the national and international working conditions required under labour laws and regulations. The company does not use any child or bonded labour prohibited under the labour act. The company has the distinction of being certified as the first Saddlery and Tanning unit in the world for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards by British Standards Institution(BSI)for implementing Quality, Environmental and Occupation Health&Safety Management Systems, and is also in process of Social Accountability accreditation, CE marking for meeting the safety standards of equestrian products and Eco-labelling for producing nature friendly finished leather, in order to meet all the possible WTO challenges which are likely to become mandatory by the year 2006. Contd.....2 Page 2 May 2005 COMPANY PROFILE For pollution control the company has its own Primary Effluent Treatment Plant, backed by in-house laboratory to check the required parameters. For the secondary treatment the unit is connected with the Common Effluent Treatment Plant. The by-products such as the fleshing, cattle ears and splits are used for making Dog Chews and knotted Dog bones. In addition to supplying the finished products with the buyer-owned labels, the company has also promoted its own brands for different categories of product range. KINGSTON brand for economical range of equestrian products made with Indian Buffalo leather. EQUITEL for high end equestrian products made from imported European hides. RYDER BELTS brand for casual leather belts and TASTEE brand for animal nutritional supplement products, such as dog chews. The company's international marketing operations are being handled directly from England to provide better and efficient services to the customers. Moreover, being located in Europe it is very convenient and accessible for the buyers to liaise with the company as and when required. For the outstanding performance the company has been receiving various recognitions and awards for excellence in International Marketing, Export Performance, Quality Control, Designing, Fair Business Practices, etc. Of state and national level.
