| About us | Founded in Italy in 1978 from modest beginnings, JAS spread quickly across Europe and Far East. Today JAS has grown into a sizeable global corporation with more than 150 offices worldwide, through a combination of commitment to innovation and dedication to customers. The Evolution of JAS JAS now has more than 150 offices in about 100 countries worldwide, together with exclusive agents in other countries where it does not have its own presence. The Group has evolved through distinct phases which can be summarised as: Covering the first decade. An orientation from Europe to the Far East, with JAS taking a dominant market share in the inbound market to Japan from Europe. The late 1980s and 1990s saw the emergence and establishment of the network in USA, and South America, permitting a truly global presence and more evenly balanced trade flows over the 3 major trading zones of Europe, the Americas, and the Far East. In addition the JAS Group invested in a series of physical logistics facilities in key gateway hubs to service its own operations. The new millennium sees the consolidation of these 2 first phases, utilising the new facilities and emphasising on gateway traffic through major hubs. The Group's capabilities are being continually enhanced through the use of multi-lingual web based electronic commerce and 'Straight Through Processing'.
