| About us | From a humble beginning with a capital of Rupees One Lakh in 1965, and a work force of 3 members producing a mere 100 kgs of ordinary Vermicelli per day wrapped in paper pockets, grew into an gigantic rural based industry with the enterprising venture, foresight and innovativeness now having a production of 10 MT per day and a sum of Rs. 70 lakhs as investment. Absorbing new technologies he produced Roasted Vermicelli and other needy food products to the local markets. We started production of ordinary Vermicelli packed in 100 gem paper pockets initially during the 1960, now we have grown in size and stature and our production now spans to Roasted Vermicelli, Long Vermicelli packed in 200 gms & 500 gms poly packs, Ada, Dazze Noodles, Dazze Gold Uppuma Mix, Puttu Flour, Ragi Vermicelli, Payasam Mix etc packed in Cardboard packs and Poly Packs of 100 gms, 200 gms & 500 gms running to a volume of 10 MT per day. The products are used in the preparation of various delightful dishes.When use of Vermicelli was much unheard and that too used only for occasional festival times in the early period of 1965, our Founder introduced innovative marketing methods and due to his untiring work, our industry had grown and flourished. Now our branded products are commanding nearly 50% to 90% of market share in the southern parts of Kerala and Tamilnadu, making a substantial growth every year even when stiff competition imposed by many industries in the field. And our company has grown to the present stature gradually during the past four decades. Our products are very well received and our brand is popular among the households. In a large populous country like India, people who generate employment opportunities are praise worthy especially in underemployed agriculture dominated area. We are now giving permanent livlihood to nearly 200 families. This is a major social security provided us. Management : Our unit, M/s. P.R. Srinivasan & Sons, which was started by our Founder, is now managed by Mr. P.R.S. Srinivasan, son of the former and now he is venturing to new areanas in the food products industry. Mr. P.R.S. Srinivasan had gained valuable experience under his father, who was a pioneer in the industry and followed the footsteps of his Father and now heads the organization. From the single company the enterprise has grown in size and stature and presently having sister concerns of which, one is trading in Wheat and Wheat Products like Maida, Sooja, Atta etc for the past two decades in southern district of Tamil Nadu. To cap the achievements and efforts, Mr. P.R.S. Srinivasan, floated a company in the name of PRS Foods Private Limited during the year 2003 to produce the World first, most innovative, modern research based product from Ragi. Even though Ragi consumption was substantial two decades ageo its usage got greatly reduced because of rice and also because of old-fashioned products like Ragi Flour, which is having product limitations curtailed the usage. With an investment of 1.50 crores and a production capacity of 10 MT per day, this modern Ragi processing unit produces Ragi Rice and Ragi Rava. Like paddy rice, Ragi Rice suits to all recipies and multitude of products can be made our of it, excelling in taste and offering absolutely different stimuli to the taste buds than the conventional rice. Equally Ragi Rava preparations evoke much statisfaction to the taste buds and appetite. The qualities of these innovate products does not end with this. It is rich in Calcium, Phosphorous, Iron, etc. and significantly low in Glucose, which is very much suitable to diabetic patients. Ragi Rice and Ragi Rava will be a ideal, highly needed and suitable food to all, equally matching the conventional rice in food preparations. This is a modern products from the traditional grain. |
