| About us | Akteks founder mr. Ahmet mutafoglu was a young weaver when he first started his kilim workshop in 1970s. After some successfull production and Marketing moves in blanket and carpet, mr. Mutafoglu decided to invest in acrylic spinning area for rug industry. In 1984 akteks a.s. was established As a small acrylic spinning mill in industrial zone of gaziantep. Akteks became the leader of acrylic yarn sector in less than 20 years by following new technologies and rising market demand, therefore akteks Increased daily production capacity up to 152 tons acrylic yarn and 55 tons Of polypropylene bcf yarn. Akteks, from the very beginning, aimed to reach the highest standard in Quality and the largest range of products, in order to become market leader And carry out turkey s name to the international area. This target has been Reached with close and continuous study on new technologies and their immediate implication to the technical body of akteks. In 1995 akteks entered pp-bcf yarn spinning market with a capacity of 30 Tons/day. As tufted carpet and rugs usage increased, akteks increased its Capacity to 45 tons/day as well and it became the second largest producer of pp-bcf yarn in turkey. In year 2001 akteks reached a turnover of 60 million USD, that includes 25 Million USD of export which goes to following countries: Uk, italy, france, Syria, jordan, algeria, egypt, netherlands, greece, romaina and Belgium. As of today akteks maintain its place in thurkish 500 largest Companies in 193th place with 70 million USD turnoner and 2100 employees.
