Cipromed 500 is suitable for treating infections caused by ciprofloxacin sensitive pathogens such as: -urinary tract infections, except prostatitis. -urethritis and crevicitis gonorrhoea. gastrointestinal tract infections, including typhoid fever and paratyphoid, -resp/ratory tract infections, except pneumonia caused by stretococcus, -skin and soft-tissue infections, bones and joints infections.

Contra-indications: Hypersensitivity to quinolone derivatives Adverse Effects: Cipromed 500 generally have been well tolerated and adverse reaction seldom were severe enough to require discontinuation of therapy.

Adverse reactions most frequently have affected the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system Nausea headache and dizzeness have occured most commonly. Adverse effects of the gastrointestianal tract fnclude abdominal pain dyspepsiap flatulence, vomiting, diarrhoea and stomatitis.

Additional adverse reactions affecting the central nervous systems include malaise, drowsiness, weakness, insomnia, restlessness and agitation. Depression, halucination, vision disorder, psychosis and convulsion have been reported rarely.

Dosage: Adults； -urinary tract infections, mild to moderate; 250 mg every 12 hours, severe: 500 mg every 12 hours. respiratory tract, bone and joint, skin infections, mild to moderate: 500 mg every 12 hours. Severe: 750 mg every 12 hours. bacterial diarrhoea: 500 mg every 12 hours.

The usual duration of therapy is 7-14 days but more prolonged therapy may be required for severe or complicated infections.

Bone and joint infections may require treatment for 4-6 weeks or longer Infections diarrhoea may be treated for 5-7 days. for acute gonorrhoea: urethral, endocevical, rectal or pharyngeal: a single dose of 500 mg Storage instructions: Store in a cool, dry & dark place.
