Maldives Fresh Yellowfin Tuna (thunnus Albacares)

They head out to the open sea on their Dhoni (traditional Maldivian boat) in search of surface Tuna schools. When a school of Tuna is sighted, the crew throw bait into and around the school. The Tuna Fish will come close to the Dhoni at which time the six fishermen will place their line attached to the pole in the water.

Due to the frenzied feeding state of the school, the Tuna Fish begin to bite at any small object in the water and thus get hooked and hauled onto the deck of the Dhoni, automatically unhooking themselves as the hook is barbless. The Dhoni will continue searching for another school of fish. A large vessel will load up to its capacity of 4 tons.
