KR Grade E shipbuilding Steel Description

KR grade E steel is a kind of hot rolled general tensile strength steel. The KR E grade steel plates have yield strength of 34,100 psi (235 MPa), and ultimate tensile strength of 58,000 - 75,500 psi (400-520 MPa). KR steels come 4 grades in ordinary-strength steel for shipbuilding and grade E is the highest one of them.

KR Grade E shipbuilding Steel Application

KR E grades of steel plate are almost exclusively used in the Shipbuilding Industry for the construction of structural parts of ships, barges and marine equipment. KR E Shipbuilding steel plates also can be used for ship repairing, the offshore oil drilling platform, the platform pipe joints and other components. The grade E steel is certified by KR –Korean Register of Shipping.

KR E Shipbuilding Steel Chemical Composition Heat Analysis

Main chemical composition in KR E steel is carton max 0.21, silicon 0.1-0.35, manganese 0.60, phosphorus max 0.035, Sulphur max 0.035.

The min Yield is 235Mpa, the tensile is 400-520Mpa, the Elongation is 22%, the Min Impact Energy is about 27J
