1) This is a Modified A8 Tool Steel which is required to make this knife. This is NOT standard A8.Including the element of carbon,manganese,silicon,phosphorus,sulfur,chromium,nickel,molybdenum,columbium,copper,vanadium 2) Knife_profile: The finished knife must be hardened in a nitrogen atmosphere to 56.6 Rockwell C. The knife must be deburred after milling and grinding. Length of the knife is 9". Heat Treat Specifications: Partial nitrogen atmosphere to 1850 F for 45 minutes. Dual tempered for two hours at 1050F and two hours at 950F to obtain a rockwell hardness of 56-58.
