KR AH40 steel is a kind of high tensile strength shipbuilding steel. All KR AH40 steels are standard hot rolled carbon steels. All of these steels have been engineered to be optimal long-lived shipbuilding steels. Higher-strength KR shipbuilding steel comes in 12 grades of 3 strengths, AH40 is one of the grades.

KR AH40 Shipbuilding steel plates are mainly used for making the offshore oil drilling platform, the hull of ship building and ship repairing, the platform pipe joints and other components.

Main chemical composition in KR AH40 steel is carton max 0.180, silicon 0.1-0.5, manganese 09-1.6, phosphorus max 0.035, Sulphur max 0.035.

The min Yield is 390Mpa, the tensile is 510-650Mpa, the Elongation is 20%, the Min Impact Energy is about 40J
