Grade GL AH36

GL AH36 steel is a kind of high tensile strength marine steel. All of these steels have been engineered to be optimal long-lived shipbuilding steels.As with other grades of steel, they have a specific gravity of 7.8. Higher-strength GL shipbuilding steel comes in 12 grades of 3 strengths, AH36 is one of the grades.

GL AH36 Shipbuilding Steel Chemical Composition is C % 0.180 Si % 0.1-0.5 Mn % 0.90-1.6

P % 0.035 S % 0.035 V % 0.05-0.10 AL % 0.015 Cr % 0.200 Cu % 0.350 Mo % 0.080 Nb % 0.02-0.05 Ni % 0.400 Ti % 0.020

GL AH36’s thickness is between 8mm-50mm, MinYield(Mpa) is 355Mpa, Tensile(Mpa) is 490-620Mpa, Elongation (%) is 21% Min Impact Energy is -34J.

GL AH36’s thickness is between 51mm-70mm, MinYield(Mpa) is 355Mpa, Tensile(Mpa) is 490-620Mpa, Elongation (%) is 21% Min Impact Energy is -41J.

GL AH36’s thickness is between 71mm-100mm, MinYield(Mpa) is 355Mpa, Tensile(Mpa) is 490-620Mpa, Elongation (%) is 21% Min Impact Energy is -50J.
