DALIROXIM® Cefuroxime Axetil Tablets
DOSAGE FORM Film-coated tablets: 250mg×6's/box, 250mg×12's/box
INDICATIONS Lower & upper resp tract, GUT, skin & soft tissue infections, gonorrhoea, acute uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis & cervicitis. Treatment of early Lyme disease & subsequent prevention of late Lyme disease in adult & childn >12 yr.
DOSAGE Orally administered after meals. Usual course of therapy is 7 days (range 5-10 days). Adult including the elderly Mild to moderate lower resp tract & upper resp tract infection 250 mg bd. Severe lower resp tract infection 500 mg bd. UTI 125 mg bd. Pyelonephritis 250 mg bd. Uncomplicated gonorrhea 1 g as a single dose.
Lyme disease 500 mg bd for 20 days. Sequential therapy: Pneumonia 1.5 g DALIROXIM injection IV or IM bd or tds for 48-72 hr, followed by 500 mg bd DALIROXIM tablet oral therapy for 7-10 days. Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis 750 mg DALIROXIM injection IV or IM bd or tds for 48-72 hr, followed by 500 mg bd DALIROXIM tablet oral therapy for 5-10 days.
Infant & childn 3 mth-12 yr Most infections 125 mg bd or 10 mg/kg bd to a max of 250 mg daily. Otitis media in childn ≥2 yr; more severe infection 250 mg bd or 15 mg/kg bd to a max of 500 mg daily.
