Properties of the Calcium Stearate:
Calcium stearate is the slight even white powder. The melting point is 175 , and the density is 1.035g/cm3. The calcium stearate is soluble in toluene, ethanol, benzene and other organic solvents. It can not dissolve in water. When heated to 400 , it can break down slowly. The calcium stearate is combustible and flammable. It will stearate and relative calcium salt when the decomposed in strong acid. It has hygroscopicity and is nontoxic.

Applications of the Calcium Stearate:
Calcium stearate can be used as the heating stablizer of PVC and grease and remover in the processing of many kinds of plastics. In the hard products,the speed of gel can be increase when used with the base of lead salt and lead with soap. Calcium Stearate can also be used in the nontoxic soft thin film device such as the food packaging and medical devices. More than that, it can act as the halogen-absorber of PE and PP in order to eliminate the bad effect to color and stability of residual catalyst. In the processing of rubber, it is the plasticizer to soften natural rubber and government synthetic rubber without any effect to vulcanization. It can also be used as polyolefin fiber and lubricants of plastic mold,thickening agent of grease, waterproofing agent for textiles, flatting agent of paint and plasticizer when producing plastic record. The calcium stearate can also be used in the processing of pencil lead, medicine and perfume industries.
