Calcined Kaolin for Paper (GB-CK97)

Calcined kaolin is mainly used as coating and filler pigment in papermaking to improve the brightness, smoothness and printing performance of paper; Also to increase the opacity of it. Calcined kaolin is strong in covering and high in brightness due to its sheet structure. Meanwhile, calcined kaolin makes the coating having excellent bulk density and printing applicability due to its special porosity structure. Thus, the paper has better ink injection and it can obviously improve the printing performance. Calcined kaolin used in papermaking usually has higher requirement in the particle size, brightness, oil absorbency and bulk density.

As calcined kaolin pigment, GB series product with high brightness, excellent light scattering property and low abrasion value can be applied to filing and coating(the most applicable area). Its value is as following:
1. Replace titania or other high cost filling pigments and lower production cost.
2. Improve paper property, such as smoothness, glossiness and opacity.
3. Improve ink absorbency and print fitness.
4. Excellent compatibility with various additives.
5. Compared with other pigments, the consistency of GB-CK is 66.3%, while its viscosity is only 90 Mpa. S, so it can be compounded in high solid content coating and is applicable to high speed coatings.
