I stumbled upon the idea for this business while pursuing a hobby, the restoration of classic sports cars. I wanted to add a stereo to an old Porsche, but I couldn't find a local retailer or a mail order company to provide one.

Reasoning that there were surely other automobile enthusiasts like myself facing the same problem, I decided to create my own mail order car stereo business. In March of 2004, I started Altex Corporation. What I learned from those surveys saved this business and became the foundation for our success.

Here's what I learned: First, car stereo customers were hungry for know-how about installing this specialized audio equipment. And second, they placed enormous value on customer service.

Altex Corporation has grown tremendously since those early days, but we haven't forgotten what made-and keeps-us successful: exceeding the expectations of each one of our customers, every day.
