About us | The total extent of the company is 12,442 ha. Of which 6,246 ha.(50.20%) is planted in tea,1,646 ha.(13.20%) in rubber and 1,867 ha.(15.1%) with oil palm. The remaining extent of 2,681 ha.(21.5%) is under cultivation or under grass for future replanting with tea. Tea: Watawala plantations have the distinct advantage of producing annually over 9 million kg's of prime sri lankan teas in it's own plantations. Our teas are being sought after in the most discerning markets world wide. We have 6,246 hectares of planted tea ranging from the celebrated dimbula high grown area and other prime marks, there is 18 tea estates of repute. Watawala plantations produces 5% of total tea production in sri lanka. Tea is grown across all elevations. It is directly exported by passing the auction system.
