| About us | Sabre have been manufacturing breathing apparatus for over 25 years-one of their original concepts being the elsa constant flow escape breathing apparatus. The new elsa is the third generation version of this popular product, originally designed in 1982. This latest version refelects the original concept due to its simplicity and robustness combined with preformance to the latest european standard en1146. The elsa reflects sabre's stated philosophy of producing products which customers wear by choice, not just necessity. Elsa features The sabre elsa comprises a compressed air cylinder and pressure reducing valve, supply hose to air hood and stowage bag. The new, unique hood design provides new levels of comfort ad peripheral vision. The new valve design incorporates some of the best design features from the sabre range of the breathing apparatus for new levels of performance and reliability. The apparatus is available in either 10 or 15 minute durations and is CE marked to en1146. Instant action The constant flow air supply is automatically activated upon opening the bag. A Quick release pin is fitted to the pressure reducing valve and attached to the bag via a strap. The action of opening the bag pulls the strap-thus releasing the pin. Pneumatic system The combined cylinder and pressure reducing valve is fitted to the cylinder and Features a spring and piston mechanism with fixed orifice outlet. The valve incorporates a pressure indicator and warning whistle which sounds when the designated duration is reached. A pressure relief valve protects the system from over pressurisation. The valve features a g5/8" f standard charging connector Outlet to en144-2. Air hoods The air hood utilises a unique cuboid design for optimum comfort and visibility. The three sided flat visor provides excellent peripheral vision with the shape helping to alleviate the feelings of restriction associated with existing hood designs. The hood can be easily flat-packed for stowage without creasing the visor whilst Allowing rapid removal from the bag for easy donning. The hood is fabricated from PVC coated naterials with an ozone resistant elastomeric neckseal. An inner mask prevents visor misting and minimses co2 dead-space. The hood is Available in two versions;a standard type with single PVC coating and an e-z clean Double-coated version. Cylinders 10 minute apparatus utilises a 2.0 litre, 200 bar aluminium alloy cylinder whereas The 15 minute apparatus uses a 3.0 litre, 200 bar alloy steel cylinder. Each cylinder provides 400 or 600 litres Free air capacity respectively giving a Duration in excess of 10 or 15 minutes at A nominal air-flow of 38 litres/minute. Cylinders are manufactured to ec Specification. Other materials/specifications available on request. Warning whistle The elsa features S duration whistle that is activated when the air is depleted, Indicating that the co2 level within the hood exceeds the preformance Specification. The elsa bag The specially designed bag is fabricated from Either a high visibility PVC coated material or An anti-static, black polurethane material. The Bag allows for quick donning, can be Comfortably carried in two orientations and May be used with an optional waist belt. Velcro strips secure the opening with Tamperproof tags supplied to prevent Unauthorised access. A transparent window is Provided to allow the cylinder contents gauge And activation pin to be inspected without Opening the bag. The stowage bag also Features an adjustable webbing strap with dual Point fixing for versatility. Approvals The elsa is CE marked to en1146 in accordance with ec/686/86. The elsa is also Lioyd's marine approved. All sabre breathing apparatus are manufactured in accordance with iso9001:1987. |
