Sourcing Contract Management (SCM)
In sourcing new suppliers and in managing them, our North American and European customers control these suppliers either using their own internal purchasing offices or buyers. Some customers create their own procurement offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen or Taiwan. Some hire local Chinese who speak and write good English to handle local suppliers for these offices. Some prefer to use agents to source and buy for them. There are good stories and bad stories about starting your own procurement offices in China. If you want to start a China office, you must be proficient at managing Chinese office staff and Chinese suppliers.
