Ferntea limited has played a very significant role in the Tea export trade in Sri Lanka for well over a decade. The company has over the years developed a global spread of markets for its exports and is categorized as a top-ranking exporter of Sri Lankan Tea.

In recent years, emphasis has been placed on value addition and a significant escalation in the volume of tea exports in this form has been evident. Currently approximately 50% of the exports are in value added form and this situation has developed with the commencement of a govenment approved subsidiary Company which is ISO 9002 approved. We are now in the process of preparing for HACCP approval.

The professional touch in the management, combined with the experience and expertise in the tea trade, are the factors that have contributed to the success and growth of the company.

Apart from tea our company also deals in tea related activity/trade where we have the agency for a well known German tea bag machine HST/PT which we successfully market in Sri Lanka and India. H&S Tee Gesellschaft, the manufacturer of PT machines, has been developing Tea bagging machines since 1960.

We also represent Sollas Holland B. V of Netherlands - Sollas packing and wrapping machines, Martin Baur - Herbal and Fruit Teas of Germany and Ceylon Paper Sacks - for the distribution of Craft Paper sacks in India.

We have now developed a premium brand of Tea - the Marcelle Brand. We have developed a range of products under this brand - Ceylon black, Flavoured, Fruit, Herbal and Teas in different forms of packaging like batik cloth pouches, wooden boxes and porcelain Tea caddies.
