The company was started as a single store operation in St Johns Newfoundland and has expanded across Canada through the combination of opening new stores, and the opportunistic acquisition of competing chains. Bentley has grown rapidly in the last fifteen years and has become a household name for retail luggage, handbags and accessories, synonymous with value and customer service It is currently the largest retailer of luggage in Canada, and the largest specialty store retailer of luggage in North America.

The companies operations are meticulously controlled by a head office staff of 120 employees located in Montreal, as well as supported by a 300,000 sq. Ft. Distribution centre located near Canada's capitol region of OttawaHull in the town of Hawkesbury Ontario.
