AmeriTrak Fleet Solutions, LLC (AmeriTrak) is a Minnesota company organized to provide affordable, turnkey, end-for-end vehicle tracking and asset monitoring services to businesses and government.

The founders of AmeriTrak have over ten years of combined Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) experience and over 30 years of technical computing and management experience. AmeriTrak is committed to excellence, affordability and simplicity. We sell our in-vehicle electronics package at cost and provide real-time,24/7 service at very reasonable monthly fees. Turnkey means... All technical components necessary to apply vehicle tracking to a business or government agency have been developed by AmeriTrak, and include:

In-vehicle electronics (AmeriTrak AT360 transponder), cables and antennas

Client map software used to display the real-time vehicle data

The AmeriTrak Web site used to generate historic vehicle location reports

The communication network and servers necessary to transport vehicle location and other field-collected data to a customers computers and laptops has been developed and deployed by AmeriTrak. No special technical support personnel or special expertise is required to apply AmeriTraks technology to business or government operations.

The AmeriTrak Transponder

The AmeriTrak AT360 transponder is a complete and powerful computing platform designed around the ARM7 processor core with 1.5 megabytes of on-board memory. It integrates a 16-channel GPS receiver and separate CAN co-processor. The CAN processor and I/O connector allow the AT360 to be connected to any vehicles CAN bus, present in most late model vehicles.

The AT360 handles the following signals:

8 event triggers In These can be used as 8 separate input triggers or combined with the strobe, providing 255 events.

Event strobe In Used to read a 0-255 event status byte.

4 analog-in In 10 bit A-to-D.

5 digital-out Out Digital output triggers

ASCII serial I/O In/Out General two-way communication message stream as serial RS-232.

GPS-in In GPS receiver antenna signal

GPS pass-thru Out NEMA-0183 sentence stream as ASCII serial RS-232

RF-out Out RF communication signal output.

CAN I/O In/Out Access to the on-board CAN co-processor.

Flexible Communication The AT360 can use one of several communication methods to transport data to its servers, which forward the vehicle information to a customers computers. These communication methods include:

UHF or VHF radio

In the case of UHF radio communication, AmeriTrak holds a nation-wide FCC license for 36 UHF frequencies. This removes the burden requiring a business to obtain FCC licensing for UHF or VHF frequencies. However, if a business or government agency already has UHF or VHF frequencies that can be applied or reused, AmeriTrak can program its equipment to operate with these frequencies. In some cases, existing radio equipment can also be applied to transmit data from vehicles back to AmeriTrak receiving equipment.
