Sodium saccharin is 500times sweeter than that of sugar. It is unstable when heated but it does not react chemically with other kind food ingredients. As such, it stores well. Blends of sodium saccharin with other sweeteners are often used to compensate for each sweetener weaknesses. In countries where sodium saccharin is allowed as a food additive, it is used to sweeten products such as drinks, candies, medicines, toothpaste, and electroplainting etc.
