| About us | ASHTAR Dead Sea Products was established in 1996 upon the concept of achieving good health and natural beauty through the development and the using of natural products with a special emphasis on a natural blend of minerals from the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea name can be traced back at least to the Hellenistic epoch (323 to 30 BC). It has been associated with biblical history since the time of Abraham (progenerator of Moslems & Jews). This area has a profound meaning for religious travelers. As the Jordan River which feeds the Dead Sea at the northern part with it S final waters, is known as the place where Jesus was baptized and near where John the Baptist lived. Also, the Dead Sea has a historical and spiritual legacy of its own. It believed to be the site of five biblical cites. The Dead Sea waters contains high mineral concentration four times as much as any other sea. This is due to the mineral springs on the bed and shores feeding the lake with various natural minerals, which can not be found in any other lake or sea. The other factor contributing to the high salinity concentration is the high and continuous evaporation due to the high temperature all year round. In January the average temperature is 14.3 degrees Celsius in the northern area and 16.9 degrees Celsius in the southern area of the lake. |
