Stuurman B. V.
About us | The first industrialization started here in the 16th century with the introduction of the windmills. Up to 1100 windmills were in use until they were gradually replaced by steam engines and later electricity. One of these windmills was called "De Beer" built in the middle of the 16th century and situated along the borders of the canal "Zaan". In 1947 the birth of our company took place in this windmill. The company was founded by Henk Stuurman following his father's activities as a plant manager for canmaking plant Verblifa in Krommenie. Stuurman B. V. Started as a representative office and trading house in the metal packaging industry. In the 1970's our activities expanded from metal packaging into the automotive industry supplying equipment to manufacture the "cans" ( or mufflers ) under your car. This resulted into two very strong pillars of our business, packaging and automotive. A third pillar is our Container Equipment Exchange division which handles the trading of good quality pre-owned equipment for both industries. |
