About us | The loss of a market of about 16,000 to 20,000 ginger lily blooms on a weekly basis to the United States of America, prompted the flower growers to get organised as encouaged by the Ministry, to form a co-operative. The St. Lucia Floral Co-operative Society Ltd was registered in August 19,1999 with twenty-three shareholders/farmers. Today, there are about thirty-eight shareholders/farmers, however ther is a total fifty-seven(57) farmers producing cut flowers commercially all over the state of St. Lucia. Currently, there are over 55 acres under cut flower production: Anthurium, Ginger lilies, Hybrid Heliconias, Orchids, etc. |
