Siebinger Pumpkin Seed Oil
About us | And colorful pumpkins. There the seeds of the yellow-green, soft peeled oil pumpkin have attracted the attention of local Siebing farmers for hundreds of years. In the village of Siebing, Austria seeds are harvested traditionally by hand from the fully ripe flesh of the pumpkin. For every liter of Siebinger Pumpkin Seed oil, five and a half pounds of dried pumpkin seeds are used! The seeds are dried for at least 14 days and during this time of post-ripening, the oil is concentrated in the seeds. Then the seeds are transferred to the oil-press where they are grinded between two stones. The newly formed mashed substance has to be removed delicately with a spatula from the mill-stones. The finer this first grinding process is done, the better the later oil gain. The magnificent aroma of Siebinger Pumpkin Seed Oil comes about due the intensity of the subsequent roasting process. Once adequately roasted, the mashed substance is then pressed with about 300 bars of pressure. Only then does our trademark dark-green oil begin to flow. Siebinger Pumpkin Seed Oil is one of the healthiest and most wholesome oils nature has to offer. One of its most outstanding Factors is the high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, with over %80. B vitamins and essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 and Omega 6 also comprise the highly nutritious quality of our pumpkin seed oil, and have a cholesterol reducing effect. Furthermore, magnesium salts and Vitamin E can be found in our oil, which are responsible for the strengthening of connective tissues and muscles. There are many other nutritious substances that make Siebinger Pumpkin Seed Oil so valuable, such as the rarely found delta-7-Phytosterole, and the high content of Selenium. Because Selenium is considered to be a cancer inhibiting substance, many of our customers use our oil regularly as an added health measure. The unmistakable qualities of Siebinger Pumpkin Seed Oil are its deep green color and fresh nutty taste. In the kitchen, Siebinger Pumpkin Seed Oil is mainly used as a salad marinate. Our pumpkin seed oil on green salad, beans, cabbage, potato salad or cold-cut beef salad along with balsamic vinegar tastes absolutely delicious! Tomato salad with the above mentioned vinaigrette and a hint of sour cream will make your mouth water! Ruccola salad is also extremely delightful with our pumpkin seed oil. A few drops of our oil in pumpkin soup--just before serving--adds a sophisticated flavor to this popular dish. Croutons briefly soaked in our pumpkin seed oil are also an excellent topping for soups. |
