| About us | The company having started off as a textile trading house, ventured into manufacturing in the 1980s and currently has 22 manufacturing facilities in the Indore, Dewas and Mysore region. In 1990, the textile business of the group was consolidated under the flagship company S. Kumars Synfab Ltd which was again rechristened to S. Kumars Nationwide Ltd. The company today has a one of the most diversified product portfolio in the textile industry with presence in segments like Uniform& Workwear, Home Textiles, Premium Blended Suitings, Worsted Fabrics and Ready-to-Wear Garments. With over 4000 varieties of uniform fabrics S. Kumars is a market leader in the uniforms segment enjoying over 30% market share. As a step towards globalisation, the company took a strategic stake in the internationally acclaimed Reid& Taylor, Scotland and launched the brand in India in 1995- the first imported worsted fabrics to be launched in India. The company also has an agreement for technical and marketing collaboration with Reid& Taylor and acquired a stake in Reid& Taylor UK in 1998. With its intrinsic branding and marketing skills, the company not only made the Reid& Taylor brand a resounding success but also achieve an enviable market position within a short span of time in the premium worsted fabric segment. Apart from the worsted fabrics, the company has its own line of premium blended suiting under the brand name S. Kumars International Blends which in a span of three years has seen a rapid growth in a fiercely highly competitive market. The company has elaborate plans to enter the kidswear and the womenwear ready-to-wear segments as well. The company offers a wide variety of high quality products at reasonable prices keeping in line with the Group philosophy of providing international quality at affordable prices. |
