Kim, in ho of department of animal resources& science at dankook university(ph. D. State university of kansas) and with national livestock research institute has successfully developed antibiotics replacement biotite v utilizing natural minerals. With the years-long research results: Reduction of ammonia gas, phosphorus, nitrogen in animal feces, elimination of salmonellae bacteria, decreased cholesterol level, improved igg level, etc. Seobong biobestech co. Ltd. Acquired patent as animal feed additive as a antibiotics substitute for biotite v in korea, and the technology is pct pending to 24 countries internationally. This research, evaluation of biotite v as an antibiotics substitute, was announced at the world famous international society of animal science, adsa-asas joint meetings; held in july 21-25,2002, quebec city, canada, and june 22-26,2003, phoenix, arizona, USA, respectively. It was also announced at csasam(canada society of animal science annual meeting). On the basis of the outstanding r& d results, the first shipment of biotite v to japan was made on july 2002. In nov 2003, a major veterinary company in spain imported large quantity of biotite v plus for the european markets. In addition, biotite v acquired registration license from the ministry of agriculture in china in 2004 and many chinese companies are showing interests in the products. In domestic korean market, the effects of biotite v have been proved in more than 15,000 farms and the products are also being supplied to the feed plants of nacf(the biggest feed plants in korea), national agricultural cooperative federation. Shortly, thousands of tons are provided annually in domestic market only.
