Rodopski Kilim is a company with extremely rich traditions. It was founded in 1942 in the town of Assenovgrad by a group of enthusiastic young people, determined to achieve high quality in the production of hand-made oriental carpets. The company survived during the hard years for Bulgaria and Europe after World War II. After 1944 it was restructured just like the whole manufacturing sector of the Bulgarian economy and became a part of the state-owned centralized textile industry of socialist Bulgaria. Soon Rodopski Kilim became one of the most important textile companies in the region of Assenovrgad, where textile industry already had significant traditions. After the democratic changes in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe in 1989 Rodopski Kilim changed too. The company was able to successfully find its way in the new reality of the free market economy. At that time in addition to the carpet manufacturing the company started producing a wide range of other textile products - t-shirts, sweatshirts, overalls, bedding sheets. The products of Rodopski Kilim are famous in many countries. Our company has many business partners from Germany, Italy, San Marino, England, Greece, United States. The embassies and consulates of many countries in Bulgaria are also among its clients. |
