About us
Premise: Clothing and Equipment
Police officers, Special Forces, Emergency services personnel (EMS), Wildlife Conservation officers, Forestry officers, and all other professionals working outdoors, require clothing and equipment to help protect them from the hazards they encounter and the elements of nature. Mountain climbers, backpackers, adventure racers and other outdoor sports enthusiasts must rely on their equipment and clothing to protect them in tough situations. In the same way, Police officers and Emergency services personnel must remain on the scene of an accident or police incident regardless of the hazards and weather. They cannot leave until the situation is dealt with. They rely on their clothing and equipment to keep them from harm and allow them to perform their duties.
Many of the design considerations, materials, and innovations that have evolved in to high performance clothing and equipment for outdoor sports need to be moved in to the professional clothing industry. We see a significant opportunity in this area and we will address it.
The cost per hour of keeping personnel on the job is calculated in the hundreds of dollars per hour, when it includes as it should, all the associated costs of training, dispatch, equipment, supervision, infrastructure etc. To compromise these investments with improper clothing and equipment is to lessen the value of all the other components. Buyers often remain focused on unit cost per item and must be made aware of the tremendous cost of lost time due to inadequate clothing and equipment. The cost of an officer losing one hour per year on the job due to inadequate clothing and equipment is far more expensive than properly preparing them.
Textile manufacturers, membrane suppliers, and other materials suppliers invest large amounts of capitol in research and development to bring new innovations to the market. They often invest heavily in time and effort at great expense to sell directly to end users such as Police and EMS and Military departments to have their product speced. The dilemma for them is that neither they nor their end user clients manufacture clothing and equipment. We will bridge that gap by incorporating new and innovative materials and textiles in to our products in such a way as to bring better value to our customers through performance, quality and innovation. All our equipment and clothing will as well continue to evolve as new innovative products and techniques become available.
Command Presence: Appearance is important. Law enforcement must take control of a situation by stepping forward and taking a leadership role. For them to be effective, they must sound, act and look as if they have the wherewithal and tools to direct the situation. There in no requirement to compromise a professional appearance to achieve performance. On the contrary, a professionally appearing officer who is equipped to deal with the elements at hand is more likely to be able to direct people in unusual and dangerous circumstances. Our Clothing and equipment will reflect that requirement.
Marketing and Sales: We will establish TAC 1 as a brand that customers associate with PERFORMANCE, QUALITY, and INNOVATION. Our marketing presence, through a web site, trade shows, and advertising in trade magazines, will be coupled with the development of professional sales reps throughout North America.
