| About us | This company, formed in 1988, was originally concerned with industrial and agribusiness construction focusing particularly on constructions for livestock. A strategic plan was developed in 1995. This plan envisaged taking advantage of construction opportunities presented by the rapid growth in the Ecuadorian flower growing sector. Accordingly, high tech Spanish greenhouses were introduced that same year. In 1996, the company negotiated exclusive rights to market and build RICHEL greenhouses. By December 1998, when the agreement ended, 6 projects covering a total of 36 hectares had been sold and built. ORTOMET S.A. currently represents the following businesses: ALBUZ (France) AT PLASTICS (Canada) FELINS (USA) FILCLAIR (France) HANNA INSTRUMENTS (Italy) HOTBOX (England) MACHEREY - NAGEL (Germany) MARIENBERG (Chile) MULTIFAN (Holland) SCHAEFER (USA) SPECTRUM TECHNOLOGIES (USA) TAYLOR (USA) TILDENET (England) FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT The company offices, which are located in an apartment very close to the Quito airport, have 4 telephone lines and a dedicated line for fax, e-mail facilities and a computer network. It has a well-equipped basic metal workshop for technical support with personnel specialised in welding and metal construction and has on-site storage both enclosed and open-air. The business has three cars, two four-wheel drive vehicles and a truck which move personnel, equipment and merchandise as necessary. In addition, the company owns basic equipment for construction projects such as concrete mixers, vibrators, compactors, concrete finisher and an appropriate stock of light tools. KNOWLEDGE OF THE MARKET AND SALES FORCE The company is well positioned in the agribusiness, horticulture and flower growing markets of the Ecuadorian sierra, thanks to the constant efforts of its executives and personnel over the past 16 years. The serious, responsible approach of the all members of the team is recognised and appreciated by our clients, who are highlight the quality and efficiency with which staff have undertaken commissions. Accordingly, the company makes a policy of working only with products which, from a global perspective are of unquestionably high quality. We count on a highly professional sales force which essentially manages the three geographical areas into which we have segmented the market, which to date is made up of 530 names of businesses and people engaged in one or more of the three productive activities previously mentioned. Information on these businesses and people is controlled on a computerised database, where each one of these has a card which in addition to basic information contains specific data concerned with possible demand for equipment and products. The sales force updates this database daily. Reports have been designed which may be generated daily, weekly or monthly. This enables management to keep strict control on work and, moreover, to manage client relations very dynamically. |
