About us | 1990 Change of company name into marcopolo. 1994 New start of the company as EHG Handy Tech Elektronik GmbH with Dipl. -Ing. Siegfried Kipke, managing director and owner, and 9 employees. The departments purchasing, administration, development, production, sales and after-sale-service are established in the headquarters in Horb. With this Restructuring we secure a high product quality. By working together with blind and visually impaired staff members, we guarantee the best customer service - We know what we are talking about. Our product range includes classic Braille displays, [modular Braille displays], talking calculators, we also distribute reading systems and CCTVs. Handy Tech becomes partner and preferred supplier of Siemens nad computer with software. 1995 Founding of a representation in Hannover. With the Handy Tech Braille displays, blind computer users can now work with Windows. 1996 Opening of a subsidiary in Cologne. With the Handy Tech Braille displays, blind computer users can now explore the Internet. 1997 The quality management system of Handy Tech is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001. Enlargement of the product range With a novelty: The [Bookworm], the electronic booklet for the blind, is a revolution in mobile access to litterature for the blind. Enlargement of the dealernet in Europe. 1998 Opening of a subsidiary in Berlin. 1999 Opening of a subsidiary in Marburg. Another entlargement of the product range with the [Braille Wave], the ultra compact Braille display with notetaking function. 2000 Enlargement of the headquarters with a new office building. Complete reconstruction of the existing building. Opening of a development office in Karlsruhe. 2001 The Berlin office turns into a regional representation. With the novelty [Graphic Window Professional], Handy Tech provides access to computer graphics for the blind. Meanwhile, Handy Tech has 42 employees, approx.1/3 of it are blind or visually impaired. 2002 Opening of a subsidiary in Stuttgart Introduction of [Braille Star 40], the compact Braille display for laptops with integrated notetaker and the [Braille Star 80], the Braille system for the professional workplace. 2003 Introduction of [Braillino], the super compact Braille Notetaker. Certificaton of Quality Management System with DIN EN ISO 9000:2000. 2004 The Handy Tech Braille systems [Braille Wave], [Braille Star 40] and [Braillino] are equipped with wireless Bluetooth technology. 2005 [Easy Braille], the USB only Braille display is introduced. [Sophie], the reading system with the natural sounding voice and [Sophie Pro] enlarge the product range. |
