The mixture contains Heavy Ends obtained during manufacture of Iso Octanol and Iso Decanol. These Heavy Ends are mostly ethers and chemicals can be described as :- P1 :C8H17CH2.CH2.0.CH2.C9H19 C6H13 CH2 CH2.0.CH2.C7H15 The content of these products is about 10%. P2 :C8H17.CH.(CH0)CH2.0.CH2C9H19 C6H13,CH.(CH0)CH2.0,CH2.C7H15 The contents of the product is about 75% P3 :C9H19CH(0CH2C9H19) C7H15CH(0.CH2.C7H15) The content is about 5%. Free Alcohol content of C8 and C10 is present only in traces. However some quantity of higher Alcohol can be present which is formed from one of the ethers C8H7CH(CH0)CH2.0.CH2.C9H19 H2 C8H7CH.CH2OH).CH3+H0.CH2.C9+H10 The quality of the product is also not low. Molecular wt of Insan HE Due to presence of various types of products the molecular wt varies from product to product. It ranges from 250 to 350. |
