The top layer is treated with plant solutions to protect the surface against time and insect infestation. Finally, a natural paste is applied to attain a fine finish. The completed piece can be framed to complement any setting, whether it is home, office or a hotel room. The world as it seemed in the past is well charted in the eloquent maps by Juan Cuenca. He make a clear description of the continents and their salient characteristics. Crafted of ox leather, the maps are bordered by a stylized wreath and features traditional annotations. Eventually includes delicately carved wood rods or frames that enhance the antique appearance of the map entirely crafted by hand. The maps captures the romance and adventure of the age of discovery.
