| About us | BACKGROUND Engaged in diversified electromechanical activities, with a main focus on manufacturing and contracting business, ABB is widely recognized as the worlds largest electrical engineering group. Prior to the establishment of its direct existence in Ethiopia in August 1993, the company had indirect business operation of more than 30 years, serving its customers in the energy, industrial, telecommunications, mass media broadcast and water development sectors The commencement of ABBs direct existence LED to the establishment of ABB Pvt. Ltd. Co. Which remained in operation until 1998 and paved the way towards the formation of the international investment and joint venture company known as ABB Midroc Industrial Services Pvt. Ltd. Co. At the beginning of 1999, Electrical Engineering Systems Pvt. Ltd. Co. (EES) was constituted in accordance with the 1960 Commercial Code of Ethiopia comprising of a highly trained and skilled staff which have been coached and developed to handle world class business operation with an all rounded support from ABB. As ABB entered into a joint venture of electromechanical service & contracting activity (ABB Midroc) with Midroc Ethiopia, EES was the natural partner to take charge of the local trading operation for ABB products & systems as well as representing ABB world wide in Ethiopia as an authorized representative. After the sale of the shares ABB used to own in ABB MIDROC in year 2003, EES has additionally assumed its role as a full fledged electromechanical contracting company and thereby also has become the entity looking after ABBs contractual interests in Ethiopia. MISSION & OBJECTIVES Ethiopia today is experiencing enhanced development in almost all sectors of the economy since the date of major change in its economic policy from command to market economy in 1993 and particularly so during the last few years. Many more private investments are being made in the areas of mining, agriculture, manufacturing, hotels and tourism, construction, commerce and finance. In the free and competitive market which is now becoming the trend in Ethiopia, companies in general and industries in particular can only survive provided they continuously maintain and improve their productivity. In this context, EES Pvt. Ltd. Co. Has accumulated a sound experience in assisting and advising customers with regard to identifying operational and process related constraints and investing their capital resources on equipment and services that could improve productivity and profitability. We understand that national industrial development and growth requires reliable source of electric energy and efficient utilization techniques. EES is committed to help meet this need by promoting energy efficiency, dependable protection and control applications through the use of state of the art technology, products and systems of our era. Our experience & study in the past has also indicated that existing and new industries suffer from high maintenance costs, frequent down times as well as production loses.
