| About us | We present below brief resume of our distilleries and the brewery for your quick and easy review: Distilleries: The khemani group ventured into the liquor business three decades ago and set up a distillery under the title of royal distillery pvt. Ltd. In the scenic surroundings of the former portuguese colony of daman situated on the arabian sea, for the production of alcohol beverages of the fine tastes& traditions which have been inherited and imbibed, in no small measure, from the association with the portuguese and the british experts. During three decades, on the basis of this background, the khemanis have developed their own classical tradition of excellent products and sound business practices, leading to remarkable growth. The original distillery has since expanded manifold with the addition of new plants and embodying new techniques. Later on, the khemani group set up khemani distilleries pvt. Ltd. Installing the latest state of the art plant technologies and techniques with the aim of marching with the times and keeping international and global quality requirements and taste as well as the market in sight. The khemanis have never looked back. They have gone global and linked up with a premier world company viz. Guinness udv, UK, for the manufacture of their international brands of liquor. The distilleries have aggregate capacity to manufacture 42000 liters per day of neutral spirit and to bottle 9000 cases per day of imfl on a single shift basis. These distilleries at present are operating at 85% capacity. The location of daman is eminently suitable and favorable. It possesses a clean and healthy environment and a salubrious climate. It is around 180 km from the international port of mumbai and is adequately connected to it by rail and road. Raw materials are available in plenty and manpower resources are free from labour disputes. Both these distilleries have been accredited with ISO 9001:2000 certification. Brewery: In march 2000, the khemani group acquired a brewery located at daman having capacity to bottle 5000 cases per day on a single shift basis. The brewery was a sick unit at the time of acquisition; it has since been fully rehabilitated and has entered into a strategic business tie-up with United breweries ltd - leading brewers in the country - to manufacture their well-known brands, including kingfisher, sand-piper and zingaro. At present, the brewery is operating at 70% capacity. In september,2003, we launched our own brand bell bird beer(mild and strong varieties) in the union territories of daman, diu and silvasa. Bell bird has been very well received by the consumers and has received and is being marketed by over 300 retailers and bars in daman. The bell bird has a unique taste and flavour and our beer master has received several accolades from connoisseurs as well as epicureans. Brewery also has been accredited with ISO 9001:2000 certification. |
