About us | The company started with the distribution of Fashion Sportswear(youngdesigners) and personal leather goods. In 1995, it became the exclusive distributor for the Samsonite Travel Accessories, in France and Andorra. At the same time, the company developed an offer in the field or Gift, dedicated to the Traditional Retail(DepartmentStores and Speciality Shops), under its own brand(ObjetCie). Later in 1997, the company created its own line of Outdoor Accessories(Trektonia)produced in Asia and sold both in France and abroad. The products distributed by the company are today grouped in 3 lines: - The Samsonite Travel Accessories, a line of products distributed worldwide(about120 models) sold all along the year. - The Trektonia line, created in 1997, dedicated to persons having some leisure outdoor activity(about150 references), entirely owned by the company and distributed worldwide. - The Objet&Cie line, what is a seasonal catalogue of gift items. Each line is based on a strong merchandising concept(trademarks, packaging, displays, catalogues) dedicated to specific distribution channels, offering a permanent solution to clear market segments. Retailers appreciate to have a good service solution where they can order regularly small quantities of products delivered in 48h, what they pay with the turnover achieved by their sales! Today, ACT Distribution is not only able to import, warehouse and distribute products, but also has the capacity to bring on the market good solutions to create additional business within the core business of its customers. This will be the case this year where the company introduces a new line of high end Aluminium Flashlights. Customers All over France, the customers of the company belong mainly to the so-called Traditional(selective)Channels: - Retail Stores(leatherand luggage, gift and airports), - Department Stores(PrintempsGaleries Lafayette, Nouvelles Galeries, B. H. V. Au Bon March , Samaritaine), - Sport Stores(IntersportSupersport, Sport 2000, Citadium, Go Sport, Andaska) - Mail Order(Catalogue)companies. For the Travel accessories, the customer set covers about 1200 point of sales, including all department stores(luggageand cosmetic corners), airport stores, traditional retail stores in leather and luggage, as well as travel. For the Outdoor line(Trektonia)the company covers naturally most of the traditional channels for Sport and Nature, airport stores and specialty shops dedicated to outdoor products(about600 points of sales). In the Gift arena, the company served about 800 customers. There is a real synergy between the lines and many customers in fact are clients for the three offers. Organisation ACT Distribution is largely decentralised, in order to allow an easy way to grow. The marketing, general administration and finance are centralised in the head office in Paris, andlogistic functions are subcontracted. The sales force is exclusive for France(6full time employees + Manager) and build with exclusive distributors abroad for Trektonia. Where the case may be, the company uses agents or distributors to cover some specific vertical segments(PremiumBoat Stores, etc. ) Turnover ACT Distribution has regularly reached an annual turnover of 4 MEUR. However, since 2001, the company dropped stepwise the Gift offer to concentrate on Travel, Sport&Outdoor. Target turnover for 2003/2004 is around 3 MEUR,60% of it being achieved in Travel and Luggage. |
