On the beginning of this century the scientists from the chemistry faculty of university of gdansk together with the scientists from sea fishing institute in gdynia as the first laboratory in the world obtained by cold method, biologically active collagen from freshwater fish. That opened up the road to supply our skin with missing protein. It can be found in skin, bones, liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, eyeballs, and mainly in veins. Due to its biological qualities, nontoxic, possibility to melt in with all living organisms and widespread, collagen is commonly used as biomaterial in medicine, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. |
