The company is Herman Kay. We have been in business since 1945 and do roughly $250Million a year in business. We are men’s and ladies Outerwear only. We carry the following brands- Michael Kors, Anne Klein, Jones Leather, Miss Sixty, London Fog and young men’s private label.
We have a NY headquarters with a staff of 95 people which include designers, product development team, sourcing team, vendor relations/ logistics, sample/ pattern makers, merchandising and management.
We currently produce in Vietnam, China and the Dominican Republic but are looking for a couple really good outerwear factories, especially those that understand the Young Men’s outerwear business.
Yes, we are manufacturers/ sourcing agent and we export to North America- U.S., Canada, Mexico predominantly.
We are a serious company looking to partner with a great Outerwear factory as our business is growing and will we be looking to grow our y.men’s private label business as well as acquiring more brands. Our customer base includes American Eagle, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Kohl’s, JC Penney, Wal-Mart, Foot Locker, Sports Authority, J.Crew, Target, etc

If I can send you a couple samples to cost and counter sample as well as couple of fabric swatches to develop think that might be a good place to start.
Please advise the following:
1- Are you Outerwear specialists?
2- Do you have the capacity to do different type of washes- stone/ enzyme/ silicone?
3- How many machines do you have? What is your weekly capacity for outerwear?
4- What is your lead time when an order is placed? (base this on 3o,ooo units)
5- What is the closest shipping point?
6- We work on a fob basis with a letter of credit. Please confirm this is ok.
7- Please send me a few samples that represent the quality of your workmanship.
8- Most of what we do in outerwear is cottons, pu, wool, synthetics, down….do you do these fabrications in outerwear?
9- Are you set up on EDI?
10- Most of our customers will require third party lab testing, factory inspections and audits…are you comfortable with this?
11- Please advise any other branded customers you have done business with.
12- Are you set up to source and develop all hardware/trims/ marketing and labels for the product?
If you are a good factory, we can do a huge business. We currently do over$200M of outerwear annually and are looking for new good factories to partner with.
