My name is Amit Bhatnagar and I am co-founder of my startup company. I am looking to build prototype or if you have any off-shelf prototype for us? These are smartcards with LCD screen. The screen is not so important, but the card memory and the ability to load biometric software and to run a Java card operating system will be important. I want to buy direct from you if you can match these requirements:
General Card Technical Requirements
1. We need to be able to store security related data onto the card
a. digital certificates and public/private keys
b. digital fingerprints
c. digital retina scans from eye
d. digital images of patient's face
e. reserved space for future security mechanisms
2. Embedded processor to perform hardware based encryption.decryption and other security comparisons listed above.
3. A minimum of 100,000 read/write cycles for data
4. High capacity long term data storage. This should be at least 1GB in size initially and up to 50 GB later (within 2 years).
5. It can be contact (use a card reader), contactless (like RFID) or hybrid. We want the card (and its necessary security applications) to perform authentication of the user. After being authenticated, we want them to have access to the high capacity flash memory where data is stored.
6. What are your environmental conditions of operation?
Our Healthcare Application
1. We need to be able to support HL7 v3.x It has come to our attention that the earlier versions will not be fully compatible with this.
2. We need to exchange medical data between hospital HL7 Electronic Medical Records at a hospital or clinic and the HL7 Personal Medical Record standard on the smartcard. See ***
3. We need to integrate with a variety of EMR systems such as from GE, EPIC, OpenEMR, etc.
4. We need to be able to store all additional patient data such as
a. personal profile
b. emergency information such as prescriptions used, allergies, etc.
c. prescriptions and medications used
d. primary doctor or hospital
e. hold digital images (like x-rays and CAT scans)
5. We need to have an accompanying card reader with security/authentication software built in
6. We will use the card to authenticate access to the hospital patient management system and also an online patient Website.
7. We want to initially deploy the card in the US and later to international locations.
Support
1. Do you have a support team that can assist in the development of the card
software and applications? If so, do they have experience in healthcare application standards
and support?
2. Do you have a card application development toolkit?
3. Can you do all necessary development work, if we are able to supply a full requirements
specification to you?
4. Are there certain capabilities or standards that you do or do not support, such as
a. JavaCard
b. .NET
c. various card OS
d. XML
e. embedded databases or messaging
5. Can you provide a complete private brand solution (with our name and logo on it) but with your card and software inside?
6. Can you work with us to have a migration strategy as higher capacity cards become available or new software standards have to be used on the card?
7. Are you in production or are engineering samples available?
8. What is your discount pricing structure? Can you give volume discounts for 100 cards, 1000 cards, etc.
