Dear Sir or Madam,
the Hamburg School of Food Science is developping analytical methods (mainly NMR-Spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry) for determination of the geographical origin of hazelnuts for more than a year now. Preliminary findings are very promising and indicate the possible success of our researches. If you are intereseted I can send you a master thesis of one colleague (containing a part of his NMR results) who will continue his studies during his PhD thesis starting in September. Unfortunately it is written in German but is has a small abstract and summary in English. Meanwhile I am continuing my mass spectrometric analyses of hazelnuts from harvest 2014 and getting even more promising results. We both as well as future diploma/bachelor/master students need to do further investigations with nuts from this years harvest. Since it wasn't possible for you to send us hazelnut samples last year we hope to get in collaboration this year. Like 2014 we need approx. 1 kg shelled (with skin) or 1,5 kg unshelled hazelnuts from many different regions. If this is not possible for you we may handle with minimum 500 g shelled nuts in case of necessity.
Please tell me if you are interested and have the capacities for supporting our research.
Best regards,
Sven Klockmann
